In 2013, the BBC aired a special program analyzing ancient Egyptian mummies using a portable digital X-ray system developed by Korean company Poskom. 

The system features a wireless interface connecting the portable X-ray unit with digital devices, significantly enhancing convenience and mobility.

Poskom independently developed its core X-ray generator by investing around 10% of its annual revenue in R&D. 

The device allows up to 400 scans on a single four-hour charge and delivers images more than twice as clear as conventional portable X-ray systems, thanks to its advanced high-frequency generator (HFG) technology.

Out of Poskom’s 82 employees, 23 are dedicated R&D personnel, and the company holds 35 patents.

Its mobile X-ray systems are widely used in the U.S. and Europe, particularly for veterinary applications, with exports to 40 countries and business ties with 70 global buyers. Poskom achieved sales of approximately KRW 16.8 billion in 2013 and is preparing to enter the high-value industrial mobile X-ray market, where prices are three to four times higher than medical devices.
