The Korea Customs Service announced that it has newly certified 29 companies, including 13 small and medium-sized exporters, as Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) following its first AEO certification review meeting of 2015.
Newly certified companies such as Poskom and Daehan Cable will receive various benefits in customs clearance procedures, including expedited import and export processing.
In addition, the Customs Service re-certified 28 existing AEO companies after a comprehensive review, upgrading LG Chem to the top AAA rating.
With the new certifications, the total number of AEO-certified companies in Korea has reached 653.
The Korea Customs Service continues to support Korean exporters by expanding mutual recognition agreements (MRAs) with 10 countries, including the United States, China, and Japan, and by providing consulting cost support to help SMEs obtain AEO certification.
