The Korea Customs Service (KCS) announced that 29 companies, including 13 small and medium-sized exporters, were newly certified as Authorized Economic Operators (AEOs) following the first AEO Certification Review Committee meeting of 2015.
Newly certified SMEs include POSKOM, Daehan Cable, Gwangjin Wintech, and other export-oriented firms.
In addition, 28 previously certified companies were recertified after comprehensive reviews, with LG Chem upgraded to the highest AAA AEO rating.
The new certifications will take effect on the 15th of the following month. With these additions, the total number of AEO-certified companies in Korea has reached 653, ranking the country fifth worldwide.
The Korea Customs Service plans to further expand consulting support to help SMEs more easily obtain AEO certification.
