The “2019 Special Journey – March Concert in Gyeonggi” was held on March 20 at KINTEX in Goyang. 

The event was hosted by the Ministry of Education, Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training, and The Korea Economic Daily, and organized by HIGHTEEN JOB&JOY 1618. 

About 300 high school students attended, with VIPs including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye, Seoul Education Superintendent Cho Hee-yeon, KRIVET President Na Young-sun, and Son Hee-sik, CEO of Korea Economic Magazine.

During the main Mentor Talk Concert, five mentors who graduated from vocational high schools and pursued various careers shared advice under the theme “My Dream, My Career.” 

Mentor Janggun Moon works at poskom, overseeing product output verification, process improvement, and assembly.

Despite excelling in middle school, he chose to attend a Meister high school. 

He shared insights on resume writing and interviews, emphasizing that engaging in activities like the soccer club and creatively using his unique name for introductions helped him stand out. 

Moon stressed that confidence and storytelling based on personal experiences are key to successful employment.
