With the growth of the pet industry, domestic medical device companies are showing increasing interest in the veterinary medical device market. 

To support this, the Korea Medical Devices Industry Cooperative held the “Pet Seoul & CAMEX 2019” exhibition at COEX, Seoul, on March 16. About 300 companies with 550 booths participated, including around 30 firms showcasing veterinary medical devices.

Samsung Electronics is selling veterinary blood analyzers in the U.S., while Vieworks launched a new in vivo imaging device for small animals.

Woorien, a subsidiary of Vatech Networks, operates a cloud-based veterinary hospital management system, and Raions established a U.S. branch to supply specialized imaging equipment for pets.

During the exhibition, around 50,000 visitors attended, accompanied by approximately 20,000 pets. 

The cooperative poskom also organized a “Tech Forum” for participating companies to introduce their products to veterinarians.

Lee Jaehwa, director of the cooperative, stated that the event allowed both veterinarians and the public to learn more about veterinary medical devices and that the cooperative will continue providing targeted information to help companies achieve concrete business results.
