On the 18th, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) held a meeting in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, with representatives of SMEs and startups from northern Gyeonggi to discuss post-COVID-19 response measures.
Attendees included KOSME Chairman Kim Hak-do, Chief of Corporate Support Choi Hak-su, and eight local business leaders, including poskom CEO Park Jong-rae, Izen CEO Choi Myung-ja, and Aha Information CEO Koo Gi-do.
Business leaders expressed challenges caused by COVID-19, including deteriorating business conditions, lack of overseas marketing channels, rising logistics costs, certification and R&D expenses for new products, and difficulty securing skilled personnel.
PS Plus CEO Jo Cheol-hee emphasized the need to expand online export support.
Chairman Kim introduced KOSME’s initiatives such as online video consultations and collaborative online export logistics projects, mentioning partnerships with major e-commerce platforms Shopee and Qoo10.
Prior to the meeting, he visited poskom’s production site to hear the company’s challenges firsthand.
Kim stated that KOSME will actively support SMEs in turning the COVID-19 crisis into an opportunity through non-face-to-face online export marketing, smart and digital manufacturing innovation, and professional workforce development.
