KOSME Supports Innovative Growth of SMEs and Startups… Promotes Non-Face-to-Face and Smart Solutions
  • 2020-06-18

The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), led by Chairman Kim Hak-do, is actively supporting the innovative growth of SMEs and startups in the post-COVID-19 era through measures such as non-face-to-face online export marketing and smart, digitalized solutions.

On the 18th, Chairman Kim met with representatives of SMEs from northern Gyeonggi Province at poskom in Goyang during a “Field Meeting to Explore Post-COVID-19 Response Measures.” He emphasized that KOSME will help turn the COVID-19 crisis into an opportunity by enhancing online export support, promoting collaborative logistics projects, supporting smart manufacturing innovation, and developing professional talent.

Attendees included Chairman Kim, Corporate Support Chief Choi Hak-su, poskom CEO Park Jong-rae, Izen CEO Choi Myung-ja, and eight local business leaders. Companies shared challenges caused by COVID-19, such as a lack of overseas marketing channels, rising logistics costs, certification and R&D expenses for new products, and difficulty securing skilled personnel.

PS Plus CEO Jo Cheol-hee highlighted the need to expand online export support due to the cancellation of overseas exhibitions.

Chairman Kim introduced KOSME initiatives, including online video consultations, collaborative online export logistics, and partnerships with major e-commerce platforms Shopee and Qoo10, outlining directions for exploring new markets in the post-COVID era.

Prior to the meeting, Chairman Kim visited poskom’s production site to hear about the company’s challenges firsthand.

Founded in 1997, poskom is a global small-to-medium enterprise specializing in portable X-ray equipment.
